Nearly 15 years ago, I met a group of women that changed my life. These four incredible women have been with me through the highs and the absolute lowest of lows. We have grieved together, laughed together, and been there for each other even with the miles that separate us these days. We have celebrated marriages, babies, new jobs, big moves, and more. Our group chat is full of memories, planned trips, and moments that have bonded us for life.
This July, we all got together for the first time in years to celebrate one of the most phenomenal women. Brittany has always been such a light in our group, a strength in the storm, and the most incredible auntie to all our kids. Now, we got to celebrate one of her milestones – her wedding.
Being able to photograph this wedding was a true highlight of my career. We all shed tears for the ones that were no longer with us but were felt so strongly that day as Brittany walked down the aisle to Jake, as they began this new journey together. The day was filled with overflowing love for these two and as they say rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck and these two deserved it all. We were able to document their first look in a spot that held warm memories for Jake and Britt, a place that filled them with peace. It was a beautiful moment between just the two of them (and me with a camera).
The day was a true Juneau day with overcast skies, rain, and a whole wild group of people ready to celebrate. It was a moment of home, of love, and of being together.
Congratulations to one of the greatest couples I know.
To Britt, thank you for bringing warmth and joy to my life, for being there for me, and for loving me and my babies. To Jake, thank you for being her person. For being that warmth and joy for her. Plus you put up with our wild group and we love you for that – welcome to the inner circle.
